We are looking for a Senior small animal vet to join our fabulous team at Park Issa! We have a broad caseload of medical and surgical cases and do our own basic orthopaedics including lateral suture and MMP cruciate repair, patella luxation and simple fractures. This is a perfect role for a Vet who is looking to work in a supportive environment.

This part time role working 28 hours per week 8:30am-6:30pm Monday/Tuesday/Friday occasionally with in-patient cover - very minimal involvement by the vet, just being aware if the nurse has a patient in. One in 8 weekends (Saturday shift 8:30am-4:30pm) Very infrequently needed for inpatients as we have a team of experienced nurses at the practice 24/7 but help may be required covering Friday evening until Monday morning. Some of our vets do cover out-of-hours shifts but the majority of the time this is covered by VetsNow. The salary is up to £53,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Our well-established practice is based in Oswestry; Shropshire near the Welsh border and we have a branch practice 20 minutes away near Wrexham. We have recently joined IVC and have a mixed caseload as well as a separate farm/small animal rota. We cover inpatient care to improve our service to clients and allow us to remain a hospital. We pride ourselves on our committed client and patient care, we aim to give the best service possible. We have two operating theatres, an imaging suite with modern ultrasound and x-ray machines and a dental procedures room with dental x-ray. We have a large garden behind the practice often used to spend sunny lunch breaks or exercising inpatients.

Park Issa is a memorable practice because of the wonderful team who works here. Made up of 2 small animal clinical directors and 8 vets working a mix of hours and caseloads, and certificate holders in small animal medicine, surgery, and ophthalmology! Our team are willing to support you clinically and personally, and we value well-being and work-life balance, making it important to us to find the right people for the job and retain our staff. We have regular meetings to discuss cases, and someone is always around to give advice and support.

Our ideal candidate is either an experienced vet looking for a well-trusted practice and a small animal caseload, or a new graduate looking for a supportive and friendly team to guide them. You will have animal care at the heart of everything you do and enthusiasm for providing a high-quality service.

We recognise that our people are fundamental to the success of our business. Investing in our people, premises and processes is at the heart of what we do. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will benefit from:
