We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Rufford Vets, Ormskirk on a full-time basis. Part-time applications will also be considered. Rufford Veterinary Group is a well-established practice known for delivering a high-quality first opinion service, with the capability to perform a wide range of advanced procedures and diagnostics in-house. Our Ormskirk site offers a busy and varied caseload, including small animals, rabbits, avian, and exotic species, alongside a high number of emergency cases. You’ll be joining a knowledgeable and supportive team who are committed to delivering gold standard patient care and excellent client service. This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse looking to develop their clinical skills within a fast-paced and rewarding environment.

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences. You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice. This is a hands-on role where you will be involved in all aspects of general nursing, including anaesthesia, inpatient care, nurse consultations, and supporting diagnostic and surgical procedures. You will play a key role in maintaining high standards of patient care while delivering compassionate and effective communication to clients.

This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week across a 4 or 5 day working week, with shifts covering between 7:00am and 8:00pm. There is a 1 in 5 weekend rota, with no out-of-hours requirements after 7:00pm.

  • Deliver high standards of nursing care across a varied and busy caseload
  • Support surgical procedures, including anaesthesia monitoring and theatre nursing
  • Provide excellent inpatient care and support patient recovery
  • Support client communication and promote high standards of service
