The Role
This is a varied nursing role where you’ll be hands-on in all areas of practice life. You’ll run your own clinics (health checks, vaccinations, weight management, nail clips and more), provide inpatient care, monitor anaesthetics, assist with imaging (digital and dental X-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy) and perform in-house lab work. We’ll encourage you to develop your skills and special interests – one of our RVNs is also a qualified physiotherapist running her own clinics, and we’re open to supporting your ideas too.
About Us
Rhodes Vets has been part of the local community for over 60 years, with a loyal client base and some very long-standing staff. You’ll mainly be based at our spacious Kingsthorpe practice, a beautiful period building with a dedicated dental suite, large theatre, three consult rooms (including one just for nurses), and separate cat and dog areas. You’ll also occasionally support our smaller Far Cotton branch. Our team is made up of 4 vets, 3 RVNs and 8 support staff. Between us we hold certificates in Small Animal Medicine and Veterinary Imaging. We’re proud to be a supportive workplace where everyone’s contribution matters.
Location
Kingsthorpe is a lively suburb of Northampton, combining historic charm with great amenities and green spaces. It’s well-connected, giving you the best of suburban life with easy access to the town centre and beyond.
The Rota
- 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (part-time considered)
- 1 in 4 Saturday mornings (8 am – 1 pm, paid in addition)
- No Sundays, no bank holidays, no out-of-hours
