We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Equine House Vet to join our large multidisciplinary equine referral hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly experienced team of specialists and clinicians managing a diverse and challenging caseload across medicine, surgery, lameness, diagnostic imaging, intensive care, and emergency services. The role is ideally suited to a vet looking to further develop their clinical skills in a busy hospital environment while gaining exposure to advanced referral‑level equine practice.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Veterinary Intern, you will gain valuable exposure to a referral or advanced clinical environment, working collaboratively with experienced veterinary surgeons, nurses, and support teams to deliver high‑quality patient and client care. This role is designed to support your clinical development, build confidence in managing more complex cases, and deepen your understanding of evidence‑based veterinary medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Management and monitoring of hospitalised equine patients
  • Assisting with emergency admissions and intensive care cases
  • Supporting surgical, medical, and diagnostic procedures
  • Participation in anaesthesia support and perioperative care
  • Involvement in lameness evaluations and diagnostic imaging cases
  • Communication with owners and referring veterinarians
  • Accurate clinical record keeping and case management
  • Participation in the out-of-hours and weekend rota

  • Full surgical suite and recovery facilities
  • Advanced diagnostic imaging (MRI, standing CT, scintigraphy, digital radiography, ultrasonography, endoscopy)
  • On-site laboratory
