We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team at Woodlands Veterinary Centre, to work across three sites: Midhurst, Haslemere and Liphook. The position is mainly based at Midhurst, with discussion considered for other sites.

This is a part-time role, 32 hours per week. Shifts include early and late, latest finish 7:30pm and earliest start 8:00am. No out-of-hours duties or weekend cover other than 8am to 2pm on a 1:8 rota for Saturday morning, enabling an excellent work-life balance.

Our nursing team is led by our Head Nurse. A day in the life of a WVC nurse, besides cake and ice creams (which is compulsory), would involve the four assigned areas in practice: Theatre, Kennels, Prep and Consultation. This variety provides as much clinical exposure as possible.

We are situated in the beautiful South Downs, close to the coast and London, with good transport links. We have recently refurbished kennels, with a separate dog and cat ward to improve patient welfare. Our practice features equipment: DA digital x-ray, dental x-ray, multiparameter anaesthetic monitor, blood pressure, microscope, in-house biochemistry and haematology, ultrasound (cardiac and abdominal probe), laser, ECG, endoscope and tonometer.

We have a warm, friendly team of Vets, Nurses, VCAs and Front of House working together to achieve high standards of care. We foster a nurturing culture with emphasis on learning and development. We encourage nurses to pursue their passions and participate in the care of residents of a local Cats Protection Adoption Centre, providing opportunities for kitten cuddles.

We recognise that our people are fundamental to our success. In addition to a competitive base salary, benefits include:

  • 6.6 weeks annual leave, inclusive of bank holidays
  • Increasing holiday allowance based on length of service
  • Your birthday as a paid day off
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • Employee Assistance Programme: 24/7 confidential helpline
  • Enhanced family-friendly policies, including maternity/paternity/adoption/shared parental and surrogacy pay
  • Initiatives focused on employee wellbeing
  • £550 CPD allowance with 24 hours paid CPD leave pro rata
  • Certificate support
  • Learning and development opportunities via the IVC Evidensia Academy
  • Access to Vetlexicon – online encyclopedia
  • Research funding opportunities for Vets & Nurses

  • Quality Improvement Programme
  • VDS cover
  • RCVS fees
  • Company pension scheme with employer contribution
  • Cycle to Work and Green Cars Scheme (subject to eligibility)
  • Voluntary benefits: range of voluntary benefits
  • Discounts/cashback at retailers
  • Discounted treatment for your own pets at an IVC Evidensia practice

Up to £29,500 pa FTE DOE.
