We are seeking an organised, personable Receptionist to join our team at Wood Street Vets on a full time, 12-month fixed term basis. You will be expected to work across all 5 of our branches in Barnet, Cockfosters, Enfield, Holders Hill and Radlett which keeps the job exciting, interesting and mixing with all our teams.

Wood Street Veterinary Hospital is a busy, 24‑hour RCVS‑accredited Tier 3 hospital, offering gold‑standard patient care in a well‑equipped environment. We deal with a wide variety of cases from ECC to orthopaedic surgeries and we are ISFM standard cat friendly and rabbit friendly certified practice.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional and compassionate experience at every interaction. You’ll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications and working closely with clinical and non‑clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.

This is a full time, 12-month fixed term contract, working 40 hours a week. It will include 8hr shifts to cover opening hours 8am - 9pm, across all sites and 1 in 3 Saturdays.

General Responsibilities

  • Greet clients and their pets with a warm and friendly demeanour
  • Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar
  • Answer phone calls and respond to client inquiries
  • Check‑in and check‑out clients, ensuring accurate record‑keeping
  • Collect payments and process invoices
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the reception area
  • Assist with filing, data entry, and other administrative tasks as needed
