We are seeking an organised, personable Receptionist to join our team at The Neighbourhood Vets on a full‑time basis. This is a fixed‑term contract for six months, with the potential to be extended or become permanent. The Neighbourhood Vet is a lovely 20‑vet practice in SE London established over 12 years ago. Our main hospital is situated in the heart of East Dulwich on popular Lordship Lane, and our two branch clinics are in Crofton Park and Penge, where we are a strong part of the local community.
Although we are a large group of 72 fantastic people, we have a close‑knit, caring team. We pride ourselves on being kind and compassionate, doing the right thing for our staff, clients, and their pets, and we like to laugh and try to make every day at work a good one.

How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional and compassionate experience at every interaction. You’ll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications and working closely with clinical and non‑clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey. You will work 40 hours per week, covering a variety of shifts including 1:4 weekends.
General Responsibilities Include
- Greeting our clients and their pets in a professional and courteous manner
- Dealing with queries both by phone, email, and face‑to‑face
- Advising clients on our preventative health care products
- General admin and reception duties
