Holly House Vets Moor Allerton has an exciting opportunity for a Vet Surgeon to join our team. This is a full-time permanent position with flexible working arrangements. The role is 40 hours over 4 days per week on a rota basis, with 1 in 7 on call and a share of the bank holiday rota, planned in advance. Salary up to £65,000 depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Consulting, client care, and running diagnostic tests (lab/radiography/CT).
- Performing routine and complex procedures across surgical, medical, and emergency departments.
- Triage and routine and complex inpatient care.
- Working across multiple species (cats, dogs, rabbits, reptiles, birds, small mammals).
Facilities and Environment
- Mid-tier referral practice with certificate-led departments in surgery, medicine, dentistry and exotics.
- Access to cutting-edge diagnostics (CT, X-ray, ultrasound, laparoscopy, endoscopy).
- Fully equipped practices with purpose-built consulting rooms, isolation ward, and spacious prep/theatre suite.
- Multiparameter monitoring for anaesthesia and a ventilator to ensure high standards of care.
- Handling both first opinion and referral cases with a focus on exemplary care for every species.
Location and Team
- Located off the ring road in north Leeds, near Roundhay Park, with excellent transport links to the city centre.
- Team comprises 19 vets, 19 RVNs (including night nurses), 6 SVNs, 4 VCAs, and 10 receptionists, providing 24-hour wrap-around care across hospital, general practice, and exotics-only practice.
- Open for 30 years with regular team events, practice meetings, and opportunities for career development and professional coaching.
Work Pattern and Flexibility
- 40 hours per week over 4 days on a rota, with 1 in 7 on-call and a share of the bank holiday rota (planned in advance).
- Occasional holiday cover for the other practices in Leeds (3 in North Leeds and one in Ilkley).
