Westmorland Vets is seeking a dynamic and experienced Clinical Lead Farm Vet to join our progressive practice based in the South Lakes region. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident farm vet to lead a team dedicated to delivering excellent care to our diverse client base of dairy, beef and sheep farms. With surgeries in Kendal and Kirkby Lonsdale, we pride ourselves on blending traditional values with a forward-thinking approach to herd health and farm consultancy.
The area offers walking, outdoor living, great scenery and good transport links. You would be required to work at both sites depending on cases but flexible regarding where you start the day.
The rota includes 1 in 5 weekends on call, plus 1 weeknight on rota on call from 5:30pm – 8am. Happy to accommodate a 4-day or 5-day week depending on your preference. On-call hours are included in salary.
As Clinical Lead, you’ll work closely with our directors to shape the future of our farm services, support and mentor colleagues, and help drive innovation in data-driven decision-making, preventative health plans, and farmer education. Clinical work will remain a key part of your role, allowing you to stay hands-on while leading by example.
You will be leading a team of 4 farm vets; there are no dedicated farm nurses but the team is supportive, particularly during calving. The overall team consists of 4 farm vets, 8 nurses and 10 support staff.
