We are looking for a motivated, proactive and confident RVN to join Cherry Tree Veterinary Practice as our Head Veterinary Nurse. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about animal welfare, high‐quality nursing care, and supporting a small, close‐knit team to thrive, especially if you're ready for an exciting challenge.
Your role in the team
This is a hands‐on nursing role combined with responsibility for leading the nursing function within the practice. You will play a vital role in both clinical work and the day‐to‐day running of the practice, ensuring high standards of care, smooth clinical operations and a positive team culture. You will continue to be actively involved in theatre, anaesthesia, inpatient care and nurse clinics, while also providing guidance, structure and support to the nursing team. Your voice will be valued, and you will work closely with the vets and Practice Manager to maintain and develop clinical standards across the practice.
Although your main base will be Cherry Tree, you'll also benefit from being part of a larger support network across our sister practices and the wider IVC Evidensia group.
About The Role
Your key responsibilities will include leading and managing the nursing team while supporting the vets with the smooth day‐to‐day running of the practice. You will oversee stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships, as well as ensure equipment is properly maintained and that all regulatory and clinical compliance standards are met. A strong focus will be placed on supporting staff performance, development, and high clinical standards, while actively encouraging best practice and fostering a positive, supportive, and collaborative team culture.
Work schedule
This is a full‐time position working 40 hours per week, with flexible rota options available, either five days of eight hours or four days of ten hours. The role is designed with built‐in flexibility to support a healthy work‐life balance and offers a varied opportunity that combines leadership responsibilities with hands‐on nursing.

The ideal candidate will also be keen to continue developing both clinically and professionally.
Why join us?
