Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of Commercial Performance to lead our trade operations across both our Pet Health Club (40% of the business) and Non-Pet Health Club (60% of the business) operations. This role will focus on providing insights across categories and identify opportunities for growth and development.
The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of clinical knowledge and commercial acumen, enabling them to drive and orchestrate change cross-functionally and develop comprehensive strategies that enhance our market position.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities
- Analyse end to end performance; trade habits and patterns to anticipate market trends and proactively address potential challenges.
- Drive end-to-end performance management and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to \’stitch\’ together comprehensive plans that drive business growth and operational efficiency.
- Develop strategic plans for Non-Pet Health Club clients which our marketing and operations divisions can plan for.
- Collaborate with existing functions that manage the Pet Health Club to ensure alignment and integration of strategies.
- Oversee the performance of various categories including Vaccinations, Wellness, Dental, Drugs, Diagnostics, Procedures, and \’Other\’.
- Utilise data and analytics to inform decision-making and develop actionable insights.
- Foster a culture of proactive planning and execution, reducing reactive responses to market changes.
Role Key Performance Indicators
- Revenue Growth: Deliver budget revenue growth across PHC & Non PHC.
- Market Share: Track the market share of the Non-Pet Health Club and its growth over time.
- Category Performance: Evaluate the performance of each category (Vaccinations, Wellness, Dental, Drugs, Diagnostics, Procedures, and \’Other\’) in terms of sales, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
- Customer Retention Rate: Monitor the retention rate of customers within the Non-Pet Health Club.
- New Product Launch Success: Assess the success rate of new product launches in the Non-Pet Health Club, including adoption rates and sales performance.
- Operational Efficiency: Measure improvements in operational efficiency, such as reduced lead times and cost savings.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Evaluate the effectiveness of cross-functional collaboration in achieving strategic goals and driving business growth.
- Proactive Planning: Track the number of proactive initiatives implemented to address market trends and potential challenges before they arise.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Measure the extent to which data and analytics are used to inform strategic decisions and develop actionable insights.
- Employee Engagement: Monitor the engagement and satisfaction levels of the teams involved in the Non-Pet Health Club.
Experience/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Veterinary Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in a strategic leadership or commercial role within a fast-moving B2C organisation- ideally with healthcare or veterinary industry experience.
- Strong clinical knowledge combined with commercial acumen.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and develop actionable insights.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive organizational change.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
