This is a fantastic opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse looking for a fulfilling and rewarding role within a progressive practice due to one of our much loved nurses pursuing her dream of travelling! We are currently offering both a permanent and fixed-term position.

The role is varied and engaging, encompassing all aspects of veterinary nursing including nurse consults, inpatient care, anaesthesia, theatre work and supporting our veterinary surgeons with an interesting and diverse caseload. We actively encourage clinical freedom, case continuity and the development of your own interests, with full support from the wider team. As a practice, we have undertaken several quality improvement initiatives, such as reducing antibiotic usage and introducing in-house ear cytology, and we are always keen to explore our next project.

Orchard Vets is a well-established veterinary practice located in the heart of Romsey. With a reputation for excellence and a commitment to providing high-quality care, we’ve been serving our community and their beloved pets for 35 years. We have also recently expanded, taking on a second branch in Ashurst, reflecting the continued growth and success of the practice. We are well equipped with a range of in-house facilities including dental radiography, laparoscopy, endoscopy, K-Laser, Vetscan Imagyst and cryotherapy. We also have a local IVC referral centre available to support more complex cases. The role is primarily based at our Romsey practice; however, due to our recent expansion, there may be the occasional requirement to cover shifts at our Ashurst branch during periods of holiday or sickness. You will be supported by our dedicated practice director and a friendly, experienced team consisting of 7 Veterinary Surgeons, 7 RVNs, 2 SVNs, 1 ACA and 5 receptionists/administrators.

CPD and ongoing learning are very important to us, and we actively encourage and support further training and development for our nursing team. We currently have one RVN undertaking an Emergency Critical Care certificate and another an Advance Veterinary Nursing (Anaesthesia) Certificate.

We are seeking a qualified and registered veterinary nurse who is passionate about providing the highest standard of care. If you’re looking for a fulfilling and rewarding career in a well-established practice with a supportive team, we would love to hear from you!

We offer flexible rota patterns within our opening hours of 8:00am to 7:00pm Monday to Friday, with Saturday mornings (8.30 - 12.30) on a 1 in 5 rotation. There is no on-call, as our out-of-hours service is covered by Vets Now. We understand the importance of balancing work with life outside of the practice and are happy to discuss flexible working options. Both full-time and part-time applications are warmly welcomed.

We recognise that our people are fundamental to the success of our business. Investing in our people, premises and processes is at the heart of what we do. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will benefit from:
