Due to the retirement of a valued member of our team, we are looking to welcome a new Receptionist to join us. As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients and their pets, providing a warm, professional and compassionate welcome at every interaction. You will support the smooth day-to-day running of the practice, working closely with both clinical and non‑clinical colleagues to ensure a seamless and positive experience for clients and patients alike. This role is akin to a front‑of‑house hospitality position – client care is at the heart of everything we do. While you won’t be part of the clinical team or work directly with animals, you will play a crucial part in supporting their care through excellent service and communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcoming clients and their pets to the practice
  • Answering telephone calls and handling client enquiries
  • Booking and managing appointments, including already scheduled visits
  • Providing information to clients regarding appointments and services
  • Handling pre‑authorisations, insurance claims, and Carefree Credit applications
  • Taking payments and managing financial transactions
  • Completing daily administrative tasks
  • Maintaining a clean, fresh, and welcoming reception, waiting area, and facilities
  • Relaying client queries to veterinary surgeons and nurses, and responding as appropriate
  • Supporting ongoing client communication and follow‑up

Working Pattern

This is a part‑time permanent role working 20 hours per week Monday‑Friday between the hours of 8:30 am‑5:00 pm.
