Waverley Vets is located in the heart of the beautiful Surrey Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We have 4 sites, located at Godalming, Farnham, Chiddingfold and Beacon Hill. Our main clinics, Godalming and Farnham, are in stunning historic market towns, while Beacon Hill and Chiddingfold have more of a village feel. We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to complete our welcoming team.

We are committed to supporting our people in releasing their potential, that’s why we underpin that commitment by offering career progression pathways whether that be surgical or medical. We can offer the exposure you need to further your career and passions. We’re offering a welcome bonus for new hires of up to £5000 (pro rata), as well as a relocation allowance of up to £5000 for those that require it. Most of your time will be based at Godalming, but there will be occasions in which you are required to cover at our other branches.

Enjoy a balanced work-life schedule with a 4-day workweek and the flexibility of a shift pattern that caters to you (our regular opening hours are 8:30am – 6:30pm). You will be part of our Saturday rota which is 1 in 4 (8am-12pm). There are no OOH and we would welcome part-time applicants. Overall, a full-time role equates to 40 hours per week, but we are able to support part-time applicants too.

Godalming is located in a beautiful town which offers a variety of High Street shops and lots of options for lunchtime breaks, along with some beautiful walks in and around the area and a few pubs along the way. We are a stone’s throw away from Godalming train station with access to London in less than an hour. The Godalming site has recently undergone a full refurbishment, which includes a dedicated cat ward and upstairs theatre, third consult room, new theatre, and new x-ray equipment for dentals (including a new dental x-ray room). Although we have excellent referral practices nearby, we also bring in peripatetic surgeons, so you can scrub in and follow your cases.

Our full team is composed of 10 veterinary surgeons, 9 qualified veterinary nurses and 13 supporting team members. We pride ourselves in maintaining a friendly, supportive culture consisting of long-standing team colleagues. We have a really strong bond as a team and will pull together in every aspect of the job role. We strive to provide the best care for our patients and clients and put animal care at the heart of everything we do.

We recognise that our people are fundamental to the success of our business. Investing in our people, premises and processes is at the heart of what we do. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will benefit from:

  • 6.6 weeks annual leave, including bank holidays
  • Your birthday as a paid day off
  • Wellbeing initiatives
  • Private medical insurance
  • Enhanced family-friendly policies, including maternity/paternity/adoption/shared parental and surrogacy pay
