Bishopbriggs Vet Centre in Glasgow are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic veterinary surgeon to join our team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. Your caseload will be mostly first‑opinion dogs and cats with a small number of rabbits and guinea pigs. Cases will include medical, dermatology, and surgical work such as neutering, mass removals, dentistry, etc. You will be encouraged to manage cases as far as possible within the practice; for more challenging cases we have multiple local referral facilities. We are looking for a good communicator who is comfortable chatting with clinical staff and the public alike. The ideal candidate would enjoy working with a busy friendly team.

Work‑Life Balance

Work‑life balance is vital to support our people. We offer a full‑time position of 40 hours per week, worked over 4 days, with flexibility to suit your lifestyle. You’ll join a 1‑in‑4 Saturday rota (consultations only, 9 am–1 pm) and enjoy no out‑of‑hours or on‑call commitments. Shifts start from 8:30 am. You’ll have the chance to work across both our welcoming main branch and our Chryston branch.

We are a 2‑branch practice, the main branch having been recently refurbished. We are dedicated to providing top‑quality care and have 3 consult rooms, a theatre, radiography, ultrasound, dental and separate cat and dog wards. Our Chryston branch has a dedicated dental suite. Our team includes 16 vets supported by 8 skilled nurses and 8 dedicated support staff. Among our vets, one is currently working toward a surgical certificate and another is pursuing a cardiology certificate, reflecting our commitment to ongoing professional development. Many team members are pursuing certifications in small animal medicine and cardiology. We engage with local schools and are looking forward to being the shirt sponsor of the local school's girls football team. Both branches are easily commutable from Glasgow city. The Campsie Fells are 15 minutes away and you can be on the banks of Loch Lomond within half an hour. Some staff live in the lively West End of Glasgow while others choose to live in Loch Lomond National Park.
