IT Systems Trainer – Veterinary Practices
We’re looking for an experienced veterinary practice professional who is passionate about supporting others, improving ways of working, and helping teams get the best from their systems. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong operational and systems knowledge who enjoys coaching colleagues, delivering training, and driving consistency across multiple sites. The role is focused on people, processes, and practical support — not technical IT troubleshooting.
About The Role
As an IT Systems Trainer, you’ll support veterinary practices and support teams to use key systems confidently, consistently, and effectively. You’ll deliver engaging virtual training, provide guidance on best practice workflows, and support practices through system changes and migrations. You’ll work closely with Client Care teams, Clinical teams, and Practice Managers to ensure systems are being used in a way that enhances patient care, client experience, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver virtual 1-to-1 and group training sessions to practice and support office colleagues
- Facilitate live webinars across key systems including Merlin, Dayforce, Online Office, and Concur
- Tailor training to different audiences including: Client Care Teams, Clinical Teams, Practice Managers
- Provide 2nd line support for Merlin process and usage queries
- Coach colleagues on best practice system usage and support adoption of standardised processes
Content Creation & Learning Materials
- Create and maintain engaging learning resources including: Quick Reference Guides, Webinar storyboards, Training videos
- Ensure all training materials reflect real-world practice workflows and operational best practice
Change & Project Support
- Support Merlin migrations and site mergers before, during, and after implementation
- Assist with the rollout of new system functionality and process improvements
- Provide Go‑Live and Post Go‑Live support, including Hypercare
- Help practices adapt positively to change and confidently challenge non‑standard system usage where required
About You
We’re looking for someone with hands‑on experience within a veterinary practice environment who understands the realities of day‑to‑day operations.
You Will Ideally Have
- Strong operational experience within veterinary practice settings
- Practical knowledge of systems such as: Merlin, Dayforce, Online Office, Concur
- A strong understanding of practice procedures and workflows
- Excellent communication and coaching skills
- Experience delivering training in virtual 1-to-1, group, or webinar settings
- The ability to explain systems clearly to colleagues with varying levels of confidence and experience
- A pragmatic, organised, and solutions-focused approach
- Experience supporting change and managing resistance positively within busy environments
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight timelines
