Lead Logistics at One of the UK’s Fastest-Growing Pet Care Businesses

With annual sales exceeding £130 million and ambitious growth plans, we’re looking for an experienced and driven Head of Logistics Operations to lead our warehousing, supply chain and logistics functions.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a high-volume operation, lead a team of around 50 colleagues, and play a key role in shaping the future of our customer experience.

The Role

As Head of Logistics Operations, you’ll be responsible for the end-to-end management of our warehouse, logistics partners, facilities and stock operations.

You’ll ensure products move efficiently from supplier to customer while driving operational excellence, cost efficiency, employee engagement and outstanding service levels.

Working closely with the Director of Operations, you’ll help define and deliver the logistics strategy that supports our continued growth.

You will work in a hybrid manner, with 3 to 4 days on‑site in Keynsham expected per week.

  • Operational Leadership
  • Lead and develop our warehouse, stock and facilities teams.
  • Oversee end-to-end logistics operations, including warehousing, fulfilment, returns, freight and courier management.
  • Drive improvements in delivery performance, operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety and operational regulations.
  • Manage workforce planning to meet demand during peak trading periods.

  • Develop and monitor KPIs across operational, financial and people performance.
  • Lead forecasting, labour planning and budget management activities.
  • Provide data-driven insights and reporting to senior leadership.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and cost savings.
  • Strategic Growth
  • Shape and deliver the logistics roadmap alongside the Director of Operations.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers, couriers and distribution partners.
  • Manage third‑party logistics and supply chain contracts to ensure exceptional service and commercial value.
  • Lead change initiatives, process improvements and operational transformation projects.
  • What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Proven leadership experience within logistics, warehousing, fulfilment or distribution.
  • Strong track record of managing high-performing teams in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Experience driving operational and process improvements.
  • Excellent knowledge of warehouse health and safety requirements.
  • Strong analytical, planning and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience with stock control systems and operational reporting.
  • Confident communicator who can influence across multiple stakeholders.
  • Adaptable, hands‑on leader with a continuous improvement mindset.

Desirable

  • Qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain or Project Management.
  • Knowledge of Lean methodologies or similar continuous improvement frameworks.
  • Experience within an e‑commerce business.
  • Pet owner (or simply a love of pets).
