Would you like to be part of our busy reception team? We are looking for a Part Time Receptionist/Administrator. You should be able to demonstrate a professional and friendly approach when dealing with our clients and have an exceptional phone manner. Multi-tasking is a must, and using your initiative is key. An interest in animals is beneficial to the role.
Your role will include the following:
- Reporting to our Head Receptionist
- Answering telephone calls and greeting clients and visitors in a professional manner
- Liase with clients regarding insurance, Pet Health Club queries and updating clients' personal details keeping in line with GDPR
- Check, action and file emails in appropriate staff/client folders/files
- Dealing with Laboratory/Referral Reports and Results
- Taking card and cash payments and allocating them to correct files and complete end of the day banking
- Changing, cancelling and booking appointments following our practice method prioritising those that are urgent
- Ensure that all daily tasks are completed and prepare end-of-day paperwork
- Dispense medication
- Help maintain stock levels and participate in practice stock takes
- Liase with different practices
- Work towards practice targets
- Adhere to all practice/reception procedures to always ensure an excellent level of customer service to our clients
- Keep reception area clean and tidy replenishing office stock
- Any other duties requested by the Head Receptionist, Nursing Team, Vets or Practice Director
- Provide cover for sickness and holidays
- Keeping up to date with training that will help within your role
An excellent level of English and attention to detail is required for this role and must be competent in using Microsoft 365 (Word & Excel).

Your shift pattern: You will work 20 hours per week, covering half-day shifts on a rotational basis from Monday to Thursday, a full day on Friday (8:30 a.m. β 7:30 p.m., including a 30-minute unpaid break), and Saturday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
