Salary up to £70,000 DOE. Relocation allowance up to £5,000. Welcome bonus up to £3,000.

We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly team on a full-time basis at our Chalfont St Giles and Beaconsfield surgeries. The Wheelhouse has been established for over 50 years and puts a strong emphasis on clinical excellence and team engagement. With four branches and a total of 42 clinical team members (14 Vets and 20 Nurses), we are a team who support each other and can deal with most of the clinical work that walks or is carried through the door. This position offers up to £70,000 DOE and a four-day week with a weekend rota included (Saturdays only). An additional qualification or interest in endoscopy, endosurgery or oncology is preferred but not essential.

As a Primary Care Veterinary Surgeon, you will work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload. You will continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.

The Wheelhouse Vets are a fully equipped and modernised RCVS accredited practice striving to achieve the highest standard of care in South Buckinghamshire. We are very well equipped with endoscope, laparoscopic bitch spays, ultrasound scanner, DR and CR radiography, Class 4 laser, and four consultation rooms. We have Vets who have completed or are undergoing certificates in surgery (including orthopaedics), internal medicine, feline medicine, cardiology, dermatology, ophthalmology, and ECC.

You are a confident and motivated veterinary surgeon who enjoys working as part of a team and is committed to delivering high-quality patient and client care. You’ll bring:

  • A veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility to register) with the RCVS.
  • Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues.
