Are you an experienced first‑opinion Veterinary Surgeon looking to take the next step in a supportive, well‑equipped hospital environment? Yorkshire Vets, part of inspiring vet care, is looking to add a Veterinary Surgeon to the team.

At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we are trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.

We aim to create a varied and fulfilling working day for our team. Your responsibilities will include a balance of consultations, routine and occasional surgical procedures, client communication and callbacks, inpatient care and diagnostic workups. You’ll join a friendly, stable team across our hospital and five branch practices, where collaboration, clinical standards and professional development genuinely matter, with support from certificate holders in ophthalmology, surgery and dermatology.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload. You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.

This position is ideal for an experienced GP vet who wants to stay grounded in first‑opinion work while benefitting from the facilities and caseload of a hospital setting. Your responsibilities will include first‑opinion consultations, inpatient care and clinical decision‑making, and diagnostic workups including imaging. The role is predominantly hospital‑based, with branch cover and the ability to shape the role around your clinical interests. We are a well‑equipped practice with digital X‑ray, diagnostic ultrasound (including Doppler), endoscopy, and in‑house laboratory and blood analysers.

Working Pattern

  • The role is ideally 4 or 5 days per week
  • Shifts typically run between 7:30am and 6:00pm
  • Saturday rota (8:00am – 12:00pm), usually 1 in 4
  • Flexible working patterns considered

You Might Be a Great Fit If

  • A Veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility to register) with the RCVS
  • Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues
  • A proactive approach to learning, with openness to feedback and development
  • Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
