Aniwell is a first-opinion small animal practice with branches in Bournemouth and Poole, proudly supporting the local community for over 20 years. With a strong reputation, loyal clients and an experienced team, we are now looking for a confident Veterinary Surgeon to join us and become part of our next chapter.
About the role
- Varied caseload with clinical autonomy, including cats, dogs, rabbits, small furries and occasional wildlife cases
- Full-time role with a healthy balance between consulting and operating days, with capacity to tailor the role to individual strengths and clinical interests
- Ability to work cases up thoroughly with well-established referral relationships; some sole-charge responsibilities and independence when required
- Primarily based at the Kinson branch, with opportunity to support the Alderney site as needed
Facilities
- Bournemouth: large, well-appointed surgery on the high street with spacious reception, separate cat and dog waiting areas, three consultation rooms, dispensary, prep area, theatre, dental suite with dental X-ray, dedicated X-ray room and full in-house IDEXX laboratory
- In-house capabilities: digital X-ray and ultrasound at both sites; Bournemouth offers therapeutic laser and dental radiography
- Large staff area with kitchen and admin space; nearby parking; Gold Cat-Friendly Clinic status
Team and culture
- Collaborative team across Aniwell: four vets, three RVNs, two SVNs and a dedicated client care team, supported by a Director of Practice
- Visiting orthopaedic specialist available when required
- Focus on learning and development; support for certificates; active engagement with local wildlife charities and Cats Protection
Working patterns
This is a full-time role of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, across a mixture of early and late shifts. A 1 in 5 Saturday morning rota from 8:30am to 12:30pm is required. No out-of-hours requirements. Part-time or flexible working requests are welcome and will be considered.

- Salary up to £75,000 DOE
