Churchfield Veterinary Practice is seeking an experienced and motivated Practice Manager to lead the operational and commercial performance of our equine veterinary practice, working in partnership with the Clinical Director and supporting our clinical team.

Whilst this is a leadership role with responsibility for managing and developing the practice, it remains a highly hands‑on position. Previous equine experience is essential to effectively support the clinical team and contribute to the day‑to‑day running of the practice. You will play a key part in ensuring the smooth day‑to‑day running of the practice, supporting vets during busy periods and maintaining high standards of patient and client care across both our clinic and ambulatory settings. How You’ll Make a Difference

As Practice Manager, you will lead the non‑clinical operations of the practice, working closely with clinical leadership to ensure efficient day‑to‑day running, strong team performance and an outstanding client experience. You’ll be responsible for operational delivery, people management and compliance, while supporting the practice to achieve its performance, quality and service objectives. This role plays a key part in creating a positive culture and enabling clinical teams to deliver excellent care.

General Responsibilities

  • Lead the day‑to‑day operational performance of the practice
  • Support and develop colleagues through effective people management
  • Work closely with the Clinical Director to deliver practice objectives
  • Oversee compliance, health and safety, and operational processes
  • Monitor commercial performance and support financial management activities
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and maintain high service standards
  • Support client experience and maintain strong relationships with horse owners and referring professionals

Working Pattern

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Involvement in a minimal out‑of‑hours support rota for inpatient cover may be required.
