Overview
Weekend Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal at Coombefield Veterinary Hospital, Axminster.
This role provides weekend day OOH coverage and is being added to the existing weekend day team. 20 hours - 1 in 7 weekends. 7:30am - 6:30pm Saturday and Sunday, plus 1 bank holiday per year.
We can be flexible to the frequency of weekends worked. 22 hours per weekend.
Holiday entitlement is paid as it accrues, as it is deemed that holiday will not be taken from shifts.

This new role will add to our existing weekend day team, which includes a vet, a nurse and an ANA on Saturdays and Sundays, plus a Saturday morning vet.
The role involves taking handover from the night team who finish at 8am, followed by a mix of consultations and procedures presented during the weekend.
The two weekend day veterinary surgeons will together be responsible for in-patients along with any presenting patients, carrying out investigations or surgery as necessary.
We have excellent facilities including 2 operating theatres, dental room, imaging suite, in-house lab with EPOC machine, cattery, kennels, isolation unit and pharmacy.
This role is attractive to vets who would like to add some OOH on top of an existing role, without sole charge, on-call shifts or night work.

- Carry out a mix of consultations and procedures during weekend shifts.
- Take handover from the night team and manage in-patients and presenting cases with the weekend team.

- Collaborate with the existing weekend team (vet, nurse and ANA) to provide high-quality out-of-hours care.
