The Role

You’ll enjoy a varied role covering surgical and anaesthetic nursing, inpatient care, and nurse clinics, alongside stock management and supporting high standards of health & safety and RCVS Practice Standards compliance. As a senior team member, you will also help drive the practice forward and support the development of the Polbeth practice.

Applicant Requirements

We’re seeking a fully qualified, registered Veterinary Nurse who enjoys the pace and variety of branch practice and is confident taking on senior-level responsibilities. You’ll be motivated, adaptable, and hands‑on, with a genuine enthusiasm for working as part of a close‑knit team. A commitment to excellent clinical standards is essential, along with a strong focus on outstanding patient and client care. The right candidate will be a clear, confident communicator who values collaboration and takes pride in contributing positively to a friendly, inclusive working environment.

About Us

We are a busy, well‑established Veterinary Hospital group with 8 branches and 1 Veterinary Hospital across Fife and Central Scotland. We are committed to delivering outstanding patient care and a high level of service to our clients and proudly provide our own out‑of‑hours care, ensuring continuity and quality treatment around the clock. Our Cowdenbeath Branch is a recognised clinical training centre for Edinburgh RDSVS veterinary students, and many of our branches as well as our main hospital are RCVS approved training practices reflecting our strong commitment to education and clinical excellence. Across the group, our practices are equipped with modern diagnostic and surgical facilities, including digital X‑ray, advanced ultrasound, multi‑parameter monitoring, capnography, laparoscopy and endoscopy suites, cat‑only waiting and consult rooms, and fully equipped in‑house laboratories.

Working Hours

This is a full‑time role (40 hours over 4 days) with set shifts between 8:30am–6:30pm, Monday to Friday, including one day per week at our sister branch in Corstorphine. There are no out of hours as we are supported by a dedicated night team in Dunfermline. The role may require occasional cover at other Inglis Vets branches as required.

Team & Culture

Polbeth is a one vet, one nurse practice, and you will be supported by our dedicated Client Care Advisor. Our full Inglis team is made up of around 100 dedicated colleagues, including over 30 Registered Veterinary Nurses, all working collaboratively in a supportive and professional environment. We are further supported by visiting orthopaedic, ophthalmology and dermatology specialists, allowing us to offer a broad range of advanced care. Learning and development are at the heart of our culture, with vets and nurses currently working towards additional certificates and qualifications. We take pride in being a welcoming, progressive workplace where teamwork, growth and high clinical standards are genuinely valued. This is ideal for an experienced RVN seeking a rewarding next step in a small team environment, supported by the stability and expertise of a larger practice group.
