We are currently looking for a full-time Receptionist to join our existing Client Care Team!
The role will involve welcoming clients and their pets, answering telephone calls, booking appointments, handing out dispensed medication and taking payments, along with daily administrative tasks. You must ensure our waiting area is fresh, clean and welcoming at all times.
You will be asked to relay client queries to vets or nurses and respond to clients. Client care is paramount in this position with an emphasis on exceeding customer expectation throughout the entire client journey. This role is akin to a front of house position in any hospitality role and clients must feel well looked after through booking an appointment, visiting the vet and any follow up communication required. Please note this role is not part of our Clinical Staff Team and will not involve working directly with animals.
About The Rota
This is a full-time permanent role working 40 hours per week on a rota basis. The shifts will involve a mixture of earlies and lates. There will also be a requirement to take part on the Saturday morning rota.
Our ideal candidate
The successful candidate must be vibrant and enthusiastic with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The reception role focuses directly on looking after our clients and their pets. We are looking for someone with:
- Exceptional interpersonal skills gained from previous experience
- Ability to communicate efficiently with clients at what may be stressful and emotional times
- At least 2 years experience in a client facing environment
- Computer literacy
- Excellent telephone manner, which may be tested at interview
- Veterinary practice knowledge / experience would be desirable
- Have a caring, can do attitude and a genuine and compassionate approach to clients.
