Blaise Veterinary Referral Centre is a large-scale, multi-disciplinary, specialist-led hospital built around IVC Evidensia's core values. As part of our expanding referral network, Blaise offers a truly collaborative and forward-thinking workplace. Alongside our specialist teams, the hospital is also home to the Vets Now emergency service, providing 24/7 support for our own inpatients and those of local first opinion practices.

We are excited to welcome a passionate RVN to our inpatient wards team. You will be part of a close-knit group of four RVNs and a Clinical Team Leader, working together to deliver outstanding nursing care across a range of referral cases. This role focuses heavily on inpatient management, with responsibilities including:

  • Medication administration
  • Drain and catheter care
  • Nutritional support
  • Close monitoring of complex patients

As a Wards RVN, you will be expected to rotate across key nursing tasks and responsibilities where possible. This includes working alongside a rotation nurse and supporting anaesthesia when needed. You will also liaise with veterinary surgeons and the wider clinical team to ensure high standards of care and patient safety. There will be occasions where you will work independently or as the sole nurse on shift, so confidence in your clinical ability is key.

We are seeking an RVN who is confident working both independently and as part of a clinical team. You should bring strong inpatient nursing experience, ideally with exposure to referral patients, and a proactive, flexible approach to your work. Experience in anaesthesia is beneficial but not essential. If you are motivated by high-quality patient care and ready to work in a supportive and professional environment, we would love to hear from you.

This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week, based on a 4-on, 4-off rota including weekends and bank holidays. Your shifts will rotate between:

  • 2 early shifts (06:00–17:25)
  • 2 late shifts (11:00–22:25)
  • 4 days off

We recognise that our people are fundamental to the success of our business. Investing in our people, premises, and processes is at the heart of what we do. In addition to a competitive salary up to £33,500pa (plus pro-rata uplift for late shifts), you will benefit from:

  • 7.2 weeks annual leave plus your birthday as a paid day off
  • Increasing holiday allowance based on length of service
  • Salary uplift for OOH work
  • Enhanced family-friendly policies, including maternity/paternity/adoption/shared parental and surrogacy pay
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Initiatives focused on employee wellbeing, including discounted gym membership
  • Non-accidental injury support
  • £1,125 CPD allowance and 3 days leave
  • Learning and development opportunities via the IVC Evidensia Academy
  • Access to Vetlexicon – our online encyclopaedia provider
  • All our Vets & Nurses can apply for research funding
  • VDS cover
  • RCVS fees
  • Pawsome Benefits – reward gateway giving discounts and cashback with hundreds of retailers
  • Pension – 5% Employee / 3% Employer
  • Discounted staff pet care

Closing date for this role is Thursday 3rd July.
