Part Time Registered Veterinary Nurse – Patient Coordinator FTC

Application open for 2 part‑time Patient Coordinators (RVN) at Hamilton Specialist Referrals for a 6‑month fixed‑term contract.

About the role

You will work collaboratively with the clinical nursing team, serving as a key point of contact for clients and coordinating patient care from admission to discharge.

Key responsibilities

  • Client communication: Keep clients informed throughout their pet’s journey, answer questions, and provide guidance on care plans.
  • Patient care: Oversee patient admissions and discharges; manage inpatient coordination while performing clinical duties such as I/V catheter placement, blood sampling, TPR & BP assessment, sedation/recoveries, and nurse consults.
  • Team collaboration: Act as liaison between clients, clinicians and the Clinical Administration team to ensure clear communication and optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications & experience

  • Qualified RVN with current RCVS registration.
  • Experience in a referral setting is advantageous but not essential.
  • Proactive, enthusiastic, approachable and a strong team player with initiative and self‑motivation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; experience of client liaison.

Professional development

Supportive training via IVC Evidensia’s “Introduction to Referral Nursing” modules and ongoing CPD allowance.

Working pattern

22 hrs/week over two days (Monday & Friday, 07:30‑19:30) with occasional flexibility as needed.
