As a Veterinary Surgeon at AlphaVets, you’ll grow your skills, be part of a passionate and supportive team, consult, operate, and treat inpatients, or opt for a consulting-only role if you prefer. Our dual-location clinics offer excellent clinical exposure, including orthopaedic work‑ups and advanced laparoscopic opportunities, so you can follow your clinical interests and ambitions.

Since opening in 1996, AlphaVets has invested heavily in state‑of‑the‑art facilities and we're moving our Risca branch into our new purpose built practice during 2026: Risca: 3 consulting rooms, digital x-rays, ultrasound, in‑house lab, sterilisation room, and state‑of‑the‑art dental equipment. Langstone: Recently refurbished with separate dog and cat wards, dental suite, x‑ray/ultrasound, endoscopy, laparoscopy, and advanced orthopaedic and spinal equipment. You’ll work alongside a dedicated team of 3 Veterinary Surgeons, experienced nurses, and committed reception staff, including RCVS advanced practitioners and surgical certificate holders. How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Primary Care Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload. You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.

Full time Monday - Friday 1 day off per week plus 1 in 5 Saturday rota 8am - 12:30pm.

  • A Veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility to register) with the RCVS
