We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team here at Woodlands Veterinary Centre, to work between all three sites: Midhurst, Haslemere and Liphook. The position is mainly to work at Midhurst, but discussion would be considered for the other sites.

This is a part time role, working 32 hours a week. The shifts are combined with early and late shifts, the latest finish being 7:30pm and earliest start being 8:00am. There are no OHH duties or weekend cover other than 8am to 2pm on a 1:8 rota for Saturday morning, thus allowing for an excellent work life balance.

Our nursing team is led by our highly experienced Head Nurse. A day in the life of a WVC nurse, other than the consuming of cakes and ice creams, which of course is compulsory, would ultimately depend on the 4 assigned areas in practice: Theatre, Kennels, Prep and Consultation. From this we keep your day varied and allow for as much clinical exposure as possible.

We are situated in the beautiful South Downs, a stone’s throw away from the coast and London, giving the best of both worlds. We are an hour from both Heathrow and Gatwick Airport allowing for close transport links to Europe and beyond. We have recently had our kennels refurbished, having a separate dog and cat ward allowing for improved patient welfare.

We would confidently say one of our unique selling points would be our team. If you are looking to join a warm and friendly team then we would love to hear from you. We have an amazing team of Vets, Nurses, VCAs and Front of house, all working together to achieve an excellent standard of care. We have a nurturing culture, with a high emphasis for learning and development.

We have several certificate holders who are always sharing their knowledge and discuss cases with the nursing team. We encourage our nurses to pursue their passions in whatever form. We look after the residents of a local Cats Protection Adoption Centre, meaning there is not a week that goes by without a kitten cuddle.

We recognise that our people are fundamental to the success of our business. Investing in our people, premises and processes is at the heart of what we do. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will benefit from:

  • Work-life balance
  • 6.6 weeks annual leave, inclusive of bank holidays
  • Increasing holiday allowance based on length of service
  • Your birthday as a paid day off
  • Wellbeing
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • Employee Assistance Programme: 24/7 confidential helpline
  • Enhanced family-friendly policies, including maternity/paternity/adoption/shared parental and surrogacy pay
  • Initiatives focused on employee wellbeing
