Unlock Your Passions at Pool House Vets: Pool House Vets is a group of veterinary practices located in Staffordshire. You will be based at our Lichfield Hospital but eventually will work at all 4 small animal sites within Pool House - all within close proximity of each other. Lichfield is ideally positioned in the heart of the country with direct rail links from London, Liverpool and Birmingham. Birmingham and East Midlands airports are all within easy reach and both within a one hour drive.

We have a caring and supportive team of 65 staff across 4 branches with 20 vets (16 FTE) and 21 RVN/SVN’s being based at our hospital site. Within our team, we have certificate holders in multiple areas including Anaesthesia, Surgery, Imaging and ECC. Practice facilities and equipment include ultrasound, dental x-ray, digital x-ray, and a separate cat and dog ward. We have 5 consulting rooms at the main hospital, 3 other smaller branches and a future expansion in the works.

Enjoy a welcoming environment with structured support and flexibility to suit your lifestyle. You will work 40 hours per week over 4 days with one day off per week. Standard shift is 9am - 7pm but we also run a late shift 11am - 9pm. Weekends and nights as part of a rolling rota but these will only be introduced once all parties feel comfortable. Weekends are Saturday and Sunday 10-hour shifts with equivalent time off in lieu the following week. We have 2 vets working per weekend so support will be there throughout. Nights will be sole charge but with back up support allocated and will not be for the first 6 months.

You will be coached by a Senior Vet, and you will be provided with a dedicated mentor. Our whole team will be on hand to support you if and when needed. You will initially only be working within the main hospital, where other vets are always available to support and guide. Sole charge branch work will not be for at least 6 months and only when all parties agree this is suitable.
