Responsibilities

This role offers a varied caseload with a mix of consultations and surgical procedures daily across Richmond House and Gatehouse Veterinary Group sites.

Location and structure

Opportunity to split time between Richmond House and Gatehouse sites with a pattern that supports work-life balance. The Saturday rota is currently 1 in 4. The practice is a multi-site operation with equipment including digital x-ray (SignalPET), ultrasound, dental machine, multi-parameter monitors, in-house IDEXX laboratory machines, and ongoing refurbishment to expand facilities.

Team and resources

The team includes: 1 experienced full-time veterinary surgeon, 1 proactive registered veterinary nurse, 2 animal care assistants, and 3 support staff, with support from Richmond's Area Director and Area Support Manager.

About the practice and locality

Gatehouse Vets is a Tier 3 Hospital and Veterinary Nurse Training Practice with branches in West Yorkshire. The practice is located in Dewsbury, with connections to Leeds and Manchester city centres and nearby amenities. Gatehouse provides training and work placements for trainee nurses and mentors veterinary nurses alongside veterinarians.
