About Glaven Vets

At Glaven Vets, everything we do is built on care. Care for our patients, support for our team, and long-term trust with our clients. With roots in the local community stretching back to the 1960s, we’re proud of our history and excited about our future as we continue to grow with compassion and commitment.

Practice and Location

We’re a close knit, medium-sized practice specialising in small animals, with two well established sites in the North Norfolk towns of Holt and Wells-next-the-Sea. We treat dogs, cats, and the occasional rabbit or small furry, and we are the go-to practice for local wildlife. Our facilities include separate waiting areas for cats and dogs, a dedicated nurse consult room, three additional consult rooms, a large prep area, a second theatre, a fully equipped lab, dispensary, and a cosy break room. Diagnostic tools include digital x-ray, ultrasound, K-laser, endoscopy, dental x-ray, multiparameter monitoring, and tonopen. We’re open to supporting development and additional equipment to enhance our services where needed.

Caseload and Responsibilities

In this role, your time will be a blend of consultations with an emphasis on continuity to build trust with clients, and one day dedicated to surgery each week. Surgical work ranges from routine procedures to dentals, imaging, soft tissue surgery and more. We aim to manage cases in-house where possible, but we do have access to referral support when needed. During the summer months, caseloads can increase as we welcome holidaymakers and their pets, adding variety to your day. Our experienced RVNs are an integral part of the practice, assisting with surgeries and inpatient care, running clinics on weight management, behaviour, preventative healthcare, and post-op checks, and bringing advanced knowledge in dog and cat behaviour.

Team and Culture

We’re a supportive team that values collaboration and ongoing development. We also work with a trusted group of regular locums to ensure smooth operations. If you’re looking to take the next step in your development, we’re happy to support certificates and ongoing education, including helping you transfer and complete part-finished qualifications.

Location Benefits

Together, Holt and Wells-next-the-Sea offer a balance of countryside charm and seaside serenity, ideal for a fulfilling veterinary career and lifestyle.

  • We offer flexible working patterns to support work-life balance. Example: 40 hour week, split over 4 days; part-time consideration for the right candidate; 1:5 Saturday mornings 8:30am – 1pm; no out of hours.
