Your Future in Veterinary. The Veterinary Care Assistant role is dynamic and involves a wide range of responsibilities. You will handle patient restraint, maintain kennels, conduct laboratory tasks, and manage the cleaning and sterilisation of equipment and instruments. Additionally, you will support theatre operations, assist with procedures, oversee dispensing duties, and provide aid during hydrotherapy sessions. A hospital designed for excellence located just outside High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire, Hamilton Specialist Referrals (HSR) is a purpose-built, 24-hour veterinary hospital equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to deliver advanced treatments for cats and dogs, along with exceptional rehabilitation and physiotherapy services. Responsibilities:

  • Handle patient restraint and provide general patient care;
  • Maintain kennels and keep clinical areas clean to uphold high standards of care;
  • Conduct laboratory tasks and process lab samples;
  • Clean and sterilise equipment and instruments, including theatre instruments;
  • Support theatre operations and assist with procedures;
  • Oversee dispensing duties and provide aid during hydrotherapy sessions.

Working Pattern:

This is a full-time permanent role working 40 hours per week. You will be working 4 x 9.25-hour shifts between 07:00 and 20:30, plus 1 in 6 weekends (2 x 9 hours).
