This is more than just a job — it’s a chance to inspire your colleagues, lead with compassion, and make a genuine difference to pets and the people who love them.
Why This Role Is Special
As Clinical Lead Vet, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving clinical excellence while nurturing and supporting the team around you. Working closely with the Practice Director and wider team, you’ll help maintain and enhance the high standards of care our community trusts us for.
You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Deliver outstanding veterinary care across consultations and surgery
- Mentor, support, and empower vets and nurses to reach their full potential
- Lead by example with kindness, empathy, and clear communication
- Help develop and maintain clinical protocols and standards
- Be a driving force behind the continued growth and success of the practice
This role offers the ideal balance of hands-on clinical work, genuine leadership responsibility, and the ability to influence positive, lasting change.
Work–Life Balance You’ll Love
We believe great vets do their best work when they’re well supported and have time outside of practice.
- 33.5 hour working week
- Saturday mornings on a shared rota
- No out-of-hours or on-call
- Flexible rota patterns available
- Open to part-time and flexible working discussions
About Us
At Bellevue Veterinary Clinic, you’ll find more than colleagues — you’ll find a team that truly feels like family. Our vets, nurses, and client care staff work collaboratively in a positive, supportive environment where wellbeing and professional development are just as important as patient care.
We’re located in Trudoxhill, near Frome, Somerset, offering the best of both worlds: excellent transport links to London and Bristol Airport, alongside the peace and beauty of the surrounding countryside. Frome itself is a charming and vibrant town, known for its historic buildings, independent shops, thriving arts and live music scene, and the much-loved Frome Independent Market held on the first Sunday of each month.
Our Facilities
We’re proud to work in a modern, well-equipped practice, including:
- Two spacious consulting rooms (with scope for expansion and a dedicated Nurse Consult room)
- Dedicated theatre and prep area
- Digital X-ray and ultrasound
- In-house laboratory facilities
- Separate dog and cat wards
- Recovery kennels
- Vetair dental equipment
- Multi-parameter monitoring
Our experienced nursing team plays a huge role in keeping the day running smoothly. Nurses carry out routine nurse consultations (including second vaccinations), freeing you up to focus on complex cases. An Ops Nurse is always available during surgery, with additional support nurses on hand to prepare the next patient and assist as needed. We offer 15-minute consultations, with 30 minutes for more complex cases, helping to reduce pressure and support excellent clinical outcomes.
Who This Role Is Perfect For
An experienced Veterinary Surgeon ready to step into a Clinical Lead role, or a Senior Vet looking for the next step in their career. Someone passionate about clinical standards, teamwork, and mentoring others, a confident, approachable leader who enjoys hands-on veterinary work. If you’re ready to grow, lead, and make a meaningful impact within a genuinely supportive practice, we’d love to hear from you.
