Join to apply for the Equine Veterinary Nurse role at IVC Evidensia UK – Wendover Park Equine Vets, Halton.

Salary Up to Β£34,000 depending on experience plus a relocation allowance up to Β£1,000. We are looking for a Full-Time Registered RVN or EVN to join our Equine Only first opinion practice.

Our main surgery is based in the heart of the Chiltern Hills just outside of Wendover, Bucks, with a small branch surgery in Watford; no clinical work is carried out from the Watford site. We have good transport links into London and nearby airports, with local amenities close by.

Responsibilities

  • Lameness work ups – trotting up, lunging and general handling of all horses while vets assess and perform nerve blocks.
  • Setting up and assisting for diagnostic techniques – X-rays, Ultrasound, Gastroscopes, Endoscopes, Dental work.
  • Day patient and in-patient care – mucking out, daily checks, administering medications.
  • Lab work – processing samples for in-house analysis and external labs.
  • Processing prescriptions, making bookings, overseeing the diary and contacting clients.
  • Maintain a high standard of patient and client care; collaborate with the team and work independently as required.

About the role

The job is varied and can be busy, so we need someone who is organised, enjoys working in a team but is also capable of working alone, with confidence in handling horses from youngsters through to competition horses. Equine experience is essential.

We welcome candidates at different levels and provide in-house training as needed.

Rota and hours

A typical working week comprises 5 days with variable 8-hour shifts between 8am and 7pm. We provide our own out-of-hours (OOH) service; weekday and weekend inpatient and phone cover will be required. This may include some overnight inpatient care and additional OOH retainer fees will be paid.
