We are looking for a dynamic and rapidly growing team member for our Indirect Tax team. Reporting directly to the Head of Indirect Taxes, this role provides ownership of VAT compliance for selected regions and the opportunity to support and collaborate closely with commercial operations. Additionally, you will provide VAT technical support across the IVC Evidensia Group and, where appropriate, directly manage a team of VAT Associates.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- Provide VAT technical support to the Head of Indirect Taxes or directly to the business, including expertise on VAT rates, partial exemption methodology, treatment of rebates, integration of new businesses.
- Manage, support, and review the outputs of VAT Associates who prepare all VAT returns across the Group.
- Manage the VAT control framework, identifying and implementing process improvements while ensuring compliance with the Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements.
- Provide support on ad‑hoc project work, such as implementing the Group’s new ERP system, advising on M&A or one‑off restructuring projects.
Experience / Qualifications
- Qualified accountant or tax advisor.
- Several years post‑qualification with evidence of CPD.
- Experience in practice or industry (or a combination).
- Proven track record in VAT.
- Working knowledge of VAT across multiple territories.
- Ability to understand and explain technical issues.
- Understanding and ability to quantify, communicate and manage VAT risk.
- Effective communicator; able to build strong relationships with colleagues in other countries and departments and with third‑party advisors.
- Desire to identify improvements and drive change.
- Strong time‑management skills; comfortable working on multiple projects concurrently.
- Ability to understand issues and identify potential solutions.
- Capable of working in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment.
- Desire to grow with the role as the Group continues to expand.
