At IVC Evidensia, a leading veterinary services provider in Europe and North America with over 2,500 clinics and hospitals, we aim to have an extraordinary impact on animal lives. The Group Financial Accounting Controller will take ownership of both Holding Company Accounting and Project Accounting across the IVCE Group.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- Leadership
- Lead and manage the Group Financial Accounting team.
- Drive continuous improvement in all financial processes across the Group.
- IVCE Holding Company Accounting & Reporting
- Oversee the management accounting functions of the IVC Evidensia Holding Companies (UK and Europe).
- Review and sign off of monthly P&L, Balance Sheet and associated Management Commentaries for the Holding Companies.
- Manage month‑end queries.
- Maintain detailed understanding of multi‑currency Intercompany calculations, external financing, derivatives, withholding tax implications, and IAS38 Intangibles Capitalisation.
- Year‑End Statutory Accounts Preparation & External Audit
- Lead the ongoing and year‑end audit relationship with Deloitte.
- Directly manage the Group Finance Managers to respond to all statutory accounts preparation queries.
- Review and sign‑off Holding Company statutory accounts prepared by EY.
- Manage audit deliverables for Holding Companies and resolve audit findings.
- Project Accounting
- Oversee Project Accounting across the Group to ensure accurate reporting across 19 territories.
- Work closely with Finance, Operations and Project Management to track spend, align budgets and apply IFRS accounting treatment.
- Ensure accurate reporting of Group Capex and ‘Below The Line’ costs by Project.
- Collate with the Transfer Pricing team to capitalize investment projects accurately.
- Report all Opex Group Projects accurately.
- Transfer Pricing
- High‑level review and sign‑off of quarterly management recharge calculations.
- Implement tax‑compliant license fee arrangements for cross‑charging Group IT projects.
- Provide accounting knowledge to support the Group Tax and Transfer Pricing teams.
- Re‑build management recharge processes on the new ERP system.
- Create new recharge processes for Group IT and R&D.
- Other
- Lead restructure of the IVCE Holding Companies.
- Collaborate with Department Heads for financial expertise and strategic decision making.
- Oversee preparation of budgets and forecasts for Holding Companies.
- Support transfer pricing activities and projects with Group Tax.
- Provide accounting support for Group‑level projects, including refinancing, restructuring and equity injections.
Experience / Qualifications
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified.
- 5+ years of senior accounting experience.
- Experience working in a complex multinational Group.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and accounting principles.
