We're now looking for a confident Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly, supportive team, where collaboration, continuity of care and a genuine passion for delivering excellent veterinary care are at the heart of everything we do.

Clinical Variety to Keep You Inspired

Our caseload is predominantly cats and dogs, alongside rabbits, small furries and the occasional wildlife patient, from hedgehogs to birds of prey. You'll enjoy a balance of consultations and surgery, with routine first-opinion work, orthopaedics and occasional emergency and critical care cases. There's some sole charge, so confidence in independent decision-making is important, with support available whenever you need it.

Excellent Facilities, Thoughtfully Designed

We've invested heavily in our equipment, including comprehensive IDEXX in‑house laboratory facilities, dental radiography, a dedicated dental suite, floating X‑ray table, multiparameter and Doppler blood pressure monitoring, syringe drivers and multiple infusion pumps. As a Silver Cat Friendly practice, we also offer dedicated cat‑only consultation times to create a calmer experience for our feline patients.

A Lovely Practice and a Team That Cares

Set in a charming barn conversion, Mainstone offers a bright, welcoming environment with separate cat and dog waiting areas, three consultation rooms, a dedicated RVN consult room, theatre and prep area, separate X‑ray room, cattery, kennels, fully equipped laboratory, quiet vet office, relaxing staff area and generous on‑site parking.

You'll join six vets, six RVNs and a dedicated Client Care Team, including certificate holders in ophthalmology and ECC. As an RVN training practice, we're passionate about learning and development, with support for CPD and clinical certificates.

A Rota That Respects Your Life

The role is 40 hours per week between 8:30am and 7pm, with 1:5 Saturday mornings from 8:30am to 12:30pm. There's no out-of-hours work, and we're happy to consider part‑time applications of 30+ hours.
