Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal Aniwell Veterinary Clinic – Poole Salary up to £65,000 DOE FTE, Relocation Allowance up to £5,000 and Welcome Bonus up to £5,000
At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.
Aniwell Vets, part of inspiring vet care, is a well-established first-opinion small animal practice with branches in Bournemouth and Poole, proudly caring for the local community for over 20 years. With a fantastic reputation, loyal clients and an experienced team, we're now looking for a confident Veterinary Surgeon to join us as we embark on our next chapter.
A Varied Caseload, with the Freedom to Make It Your Own
Our patients include cats, dogs, rabbits, small furries and even the occasional wildlife visitor brought in by our local community. You'll enjoy a varied first-opinion caseload, with the opportunity to balance consulting and operating around your strengths and clinical interests.
We encourage thorough case work-ups and continuity of care, giving you the freedom to manage your patients properly, with established referral relationships available whenever additional expertise is needed. The role does include some sole-charge responsibility, so we're looking for someone confident making clinical decisions and working independently whenrequired.
Great Facilities and a Gold Standard for Cat Care
You’ll be primarily based at our Alderney branch, with the opportunity to support our Kinson site when needed. Both practices are well equipped with digital X-ray, ultrasound, and dental radiography.
We’re particularly proud to be a Gold Cat-Friendly Clinic, reflecting our commitment to making every visit as positive and stress-free as possible for our feline patients.
A Team That Shares Knowledge and Supports Your Ambitions
Across Aniwell and our sister practice, St Mary's, you’ll be part of a friendly and collaborative team of 6 Veterinary Surgeons, 8 RVNs, 2 SVNs and a dedicated Client Care Team, supported by a Director of Practice.
We have a great mix of clinical interests, including a vet with a passion for surgery, a colleague working towards a medicine certificate and access to a visiting orthopaedic specialist. We’re also keen to support further development, whether you’re thinking about starting a certificate or already working towards one.
Flexibility That Fits Around You
This is a part-time position of 20 hours per week, with flexibility around working days, although Friday availability would be preferred. You’ll also participate in a 1:4 Saturday morning rota 8:30am–12:30pm.
Importantly, there are no out-of-hours commitments.
How We’ll Support You
At inspiring vet care, we’re committed to supporting your ongoing development and wellbeing. When you join us, you’ll benefit from:
