Front of House Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Open the practice and turn on test room equipment.
  • Greeting patients/visitors.
  • Booking appointments and entering patient details in line with the GDPR.
  • Active diary management including checking upcoming clinics.
  • Ordering contact lenses to Optometrists specifications.
  • Checking deliveries against the order information and spreadsheets.
  • Preparing paperwork for any contact lens returns.
  • Telephone patients to advise when their spectacles or contact lenses are ready for collection and remind patients of their upcoming appointments.
  • Ensuring patient details are kept up to date.
  • Discuss the benefits of Eyeplan with patients and suggest becoming a member, completing online registration form with patients.
  • Taking payments for eye examinations, spectacles, contact lenses and sundry items.
  • Balancing the till at the end of the day and producing appropriate reports.
  • Dealing with post before the end of each day.
  • Checking & responding to emails sent to the practice email account.
  • Maintaining a tidy and professional working environment.
