This role supports the development and delivery of strength and conditioning services for talented athletes and performance sport clubs at the University of Warwick. The post holder will plan and deliver physical development programmes, support bespoke training provision, work collaboratively with coaches, sport science and sports medicine practitioners, maintain records and reporting systems, and contribute to the monitoring, evaluation, and coordination of S&C provision within the Team Warwick Performance Programme.
This role appears to align most closely with IQF Level 6, as it involves planning and delivering physical development programmes for several university sport clubs, providing bespoke training programmes, analysing sport-specific S&C needs, interpreting training and performance data, contributing to monitoring and evaluation, and working within a multidisciplinary support network. Although the role works alongside the Lead Strength and Conditioning Coach and Performance Sport Manager, the responsibilities and essential criteria suggest autonomous practitioner capability rather than a purely supervised delivery role.
The role requires a degree or equivalent experience, professional accreditation or the ability to achieve it within 12 months, at least two years of S&C coaching experience, experience enhancing the performance of higher education, regional, or national level athletes, the ability to develop programmes, analyse sport demands, interpret performance data, and work within a multidisciplinary support network.
