The Mission
At ITZA, we are on a mission to empower Gen Z and Gen Alpha to become lifelong, independent learners. We believe the future of education lies at the intersection of high-quality digital content, robust learning science, and high engagement.
A key driver of this engagement is Yakka—our platform's custom learning currency. Young learners earn Yakka by studying, completing educational content, and interacting with learning tools. They then spend it in the Yakka Store on high-quality, sustainable, and highly-coveted real-world rewards (ranging from tech and books to eco-friendly initiatives like planting trees).
We are seeking a high-energy, commercially-minded Yakka Lead to scale this reward ecosystem. You will be the commercial driving force responsible for sourcing incredible store products, negotiating innovative barter/supplier agreements, and ensuring every prize reaches our learners seamlessly.
The Role: Barter, Build, and Deliver
This is a highly visible, fast-paced role that sits directly at the intersection of commercial negotiation, brand partnership, and operations. It's a perfect launchpad for an ambitious, early-career professional to establish themselves as a key pillar in a rapidly scaling global business.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial Dealmaking & Barter Partnerships: Identify, pitch, and secure relationships with premium brand partners (tech, fashion, books, eco-products, experiences) to secure high-value merchandise via barter, sponsorship, or heavily discounted supplier agreements.
- Yakka Store Strategy: Curate the monthly product mix for the Yakka Store, analysing user data to ensure it consistently features items that genuinely appeal to the Gen Z and Gen Alpha demographic.
- End-to-End Fulfilment & Logistics: Oversee the operational workflows, inventory management, and timely delivery of physical and digital products to our users globally.
- Account Management & Relationship Nurturing: Maintain close relationships with brand partners, providing them with engagement metrics and demonstrable proof of how their sponsorship drives positive educational and social outcomes.
The Candidate Profile
- The Commercial "Hustler": You might be early in your career, but you aren't afraid of the phone, cold outreach, or pitch decks. You genuinely love the thrill of negotiating a great deal where both sides win.
- Youth Culture Savvy: You naturally understand what appeals to the modern teen and pre-teen demographic. You know what makes a brand, product, or experience highly desirable to the next generation.
- Highly Organised Coordinator: Securing the deal is only half the battle. You must possess the operational discipline to track inventory, coordinate shipping logistics, and handle customer fulfilment queries flawlessly.
- Resourceful Problem Solver: You know how to frame a clear "win-win" value proposition, demonstrating to brands exactly how partnering with ITZA builds lifelong affinity with a young, highly engaged audience.
Remuneration & Benefits
- Competitive Salary & Commercial Incentives: A competitive base salary paired with performance bonuses directly tied to partnership value secured and procurement budget savings.
- Substantial Career Growth: This role is designed to scale rapidly alongside the business. As the platform expands globally, you will have the path to build, lead, and manage a dedicated division as a core business leader.
- Relocation Support: Accommodation support provided if relocated to Edinburgh, along with fast-tracked UK work visa sponsorship if required.
