Role

Working as part of the production and wider operations team within the Glenrothes site, the Jumper role is responsible for ensuring all production machinery is ready for use by the operations team. The role must ensure all daily targets are met while following all internal safety and quality procedures. Responsibilities include:

• Operate forklift trucks for the removal of finished product into the warehouse where required.
• Ensure the power presses are replenished as required during production with all consumables.
• Material handling - loading and unloading of steel coils up to 6.5 tonnes.
• Unloading raw materials (steel coils) into the Kanban locations using a 10-tonne overhead crane and ensuring all paperwork is filled in.
• Inspection and quality control of manufactured components and incoming goods.
• Assembling/packing parts ready for dispatch.
• Organising the pick-up and delivery of any waste removal and/or raw material deliveries.
• Operate power press if required during breaks, holiday periods, and/or lunch times.
• Assist Shift Supervisor and Production Manager with the achievement of production plans.
• Assist with the Kanban approach (MRD), focusing on raw materials.
• Responsible for opening and closing the site facility where required.
• Work with the production team to schedule and manage steel deliveries.
• Physical stock counting of steel and raw materials at the end of each shift.
• Involvement in progress activities and driving improvements and efficiencies where possible.
• Any other reasonable and relevant duties as required.

Health & Safety

• Ensure a high standard of housekeeping is maintained in your working area (6S).
• Complete safety checks on all equipment as required.
• Actively participate in Focus Groups and other safety initiatives.
• Ensure all guarding and safety equipment is in place and used when needed.
• Report all health and safety or maintenance issues.
• Ensure health and safety requirements are met and understand all relevant safety regulations.

Job Requirements: Experience/Skills/Attributes:

• Forklift driving – up to 7-tonne truck.
• Overhead crane experience.
• The ability to work well under pressure.
• Effective communication skills.
• Motivated individual who is flexible and willing to learn continuous best practice.
• Ability to demonstrate initiative and a positive attitude.
• Excellent organisational, time management, and attention to detail skills.
