Position Summary: The Production Assistant is responsible for developing and communicating weekly production scheduling leveraging our MRD tool. This ensures efficient operations and on-time delivery. The role supports manufacturing activities through job card management, stock control of key materials, and coordination with production supervisors. In addition, the position assists with operational training administration, risk assessments, and documentation review. This role also represents an excellent opportunity for someone looking to progress their career within a growing organisation. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and communicate weekly production scheduling with production supervisors.
- Create, issue and close job cards in line with production plan.
- Monitor stock of steel and reorder when required.
- Manage and maintain the company training matrix and other training administration as required.
- Manage the training matrix, including scheduling refresher training, identifying new and additional training needs, and coordinating training dates with external partners (e.g., press, setter, counterbalance, crane, forklift, and safety training).
- Provide general administrative support to operations team.
- Support with the review and update of risk assessments and method statements.
- Support with the upkeep of the ITW compliance calendar.
- Direct involvement in operations continuous improvement projects.
- Other relevant tasks as instructed by management.
Skills and Experiences:
- 3+ years of working in a high volume manufacturing environment such as press or CNC machine shops.
- Demonstrated understanding of health and safety processes.
- Experience in production planning or scheduling is essential.
- Competent computer literacy and competent in utilization of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 is desirable but not essential.
- Understanding of risk assessments and method statements.
- IOSH trained is desirable but not essential.
- Continuous improvement mindset.
