The Workplace Services / Engineering team within Shared Services is responsible for maintaining ITV’s buildings, plant and facilities to ensure a safe, efficient and reliable working environment for colleagues across all sites.
We’re looking for a Building Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical) to join the team on a permanent basis. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the day‑to‑day maintenance, repair and operation of mechanical plant and building systems across site. You’ll carry out both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs, ensuring all equipment is operating safely and efficiently. The role also involves working with subcontractors, supporting compliance with health and safety standards, and delivering a high level of service to ITV stakeholders.
Key Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the site
- Maintain and repair mechanical systems including AHUs, FCUs and general building plant
- Respond to breakdowns and complete repairs in a timely manner
- Support water hygiene testing and plumbing‑related maintenance
- Supervise subcontractors and ensure RAMS and safety procedures are followed
- Operate and monitor building management systems (BMS)
- Assist other engineering teams (Electrical and AC) where required
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and deliver excellent service
Skills You’ll Need (minimum criteria)
- Fully qualified mechanical engineer (or equivalent recognised qualification)
- IOSH Health & Safety trained
- Legionella (L8) and asbestos awareness training
- Experience carrying out maintenance and repairs within a building or facilities environment
Other Things We’re Looking For (key criteria)
- Strong understanding of mechanical and plumbing systems
- Experience working with building management systems (BMS)
- Good IT skills, including use of handheld devices or maintenance systems
- Strong customer service skills and ability to work with stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Flexible and adaptable, including willingness to travel between sites
- Awareness of health and safety legislation and safe working practices
- Additional certifications such as IPAF, PASMA or First Aid are desirable
