Production Finance Accountant – Regional News & Programmes

Location: Newcastle or Belfast with hybrid and flexible working options
Salary: £35,000-£45,000 depending on skills and experience

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Production Finance Accountant to join our Regional News and Programmes finance team on a permanent basis.
Reporting to the Regional Finance Manager, you will be responsible for providing excellent, comprehensive finance support to the production teams.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the cost reporting process and highlight variances to stakeholders.
- Maintain budgetary control over various productions and provide financial reporting to the production teams.
- Prepare annual budgets, forecasts and monthly reporting packs which require detailed discussion with the Head of News and Department Heads.
- Provide general financial support to the Regional Finance Manager as appropriate.
- Liaise between production teams, finance teams and all relevant departments to ensure an accurate and efficient flow of transactional information.
Minimum criteria
- Part or fully qualified professional accounting qualification or equivalent experience preferred (e.g. CIMA, ACA).
- Strong Excel skills and experience of Google Suite (or equivalent).
- Demonstrable financial aptitude gained via an academic qualification or relevant production accounting experience.
- Evidence of the ability to work in a busy, deadline-driven environment, reacting appropriately to ever changing circumstances.
- Strong technical and analytical skills, with the ability to deliver high quality work to tight timetables.
- Ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with differing levels of seniority across the finance and management community and externally.
- Excellent attention to detail is key as is the ability to cope with a busy working environment.
