The role is to support the Health & Safety and Duty of Care team in providing an appropriate safety and welfare function for the business which will deliver day to day advice, guidance and training on all health, safety and welfare matters.
The team is part of the Global Risk Operations (GRO) team, a pivotal function with a comprehensive global remit dedicated to supporting all ITV personnel in managing risks, ensuring duty of care, and safeguarding across diverse production environments. The Global Risk Operations team is instrumental in maintaining a safe and secure workplace, enabling staff to perform at their best.
Responsibilities:
- Work independently in advising on health and safety matters while recognizing the limits of oneās knowledge.
- Assist the Head of Duty of Care with advising productions on general welfare queries.
- Communicate clearly and effectively at all levels of the organisation, both verbally and in writing.
- Conduct effective meetings and accurately document minutes.
- Prepare comprehensive reports for formal Health & Safety meetings.
- Ensure appropriate follow-up on accidents and near misses within the designated area of responsibility.
- Demonstrate the personal skills needed to serve as a safety advisor for low-risk productions.
- Competently draft risk assessments and other safety documentation for assigned productions.
- Perform DSE assessments and routine Health & Safety inspections.
- Collaborate with different areas of the business to develop risk assessment documentation and recommend suitable corrective actions.
- Participate in routine site inspections alongside union representatives.
- Support the Health & Safety team with administrative tasks, including training coordination, contractor vetting, and updating the online guidance portal, Compassactions.
You will need:
- Proven and demonstrable experience in a Health & Safety or Production role is essential.
- Desirable experience includes working within a Risk function.
- An understanding of duty of care and safeguarding principles.
- Knowledge of data collection and retention requirements concerning Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation.
- Experience in developing and/or implementing reporting processes for H&S data.
- Affiliate or Tech Member of IOSH having completed a relevant qualification (European Qualification Framework (EQF) Level 3 or any other qualification that IOSH assessed as meeting the criteria) working towards Technical Membership.

Please note that both national and international travel will be required for this role, therefore a degree of flexibility is essential. You will also need to be flexible regarding contact outside of standard office hours and be available to provide support in the event of an outāofāhours emergency. Some weekend work may also be necessary, depending on production filming schedules.
