The Creative Director at Metavision sets and drives the overall creative vision for the company, ensuring all output is innovative, strategically aligned, and commercially impactful. They lead and inspire multidisciplinary teams, studios and 3rd party partners to deliver industry leading & world-class immersive experiences, translating client objectives into compelling creative solutions. The role balances creative excellence with business goals, maintaining Metavision's reputation at the forefront of cutting-edge storytelling and technology.
As well as delivering on creative excellence across projects, the Creative Director will work with Metavision's Managing Director and Studio Director to identify growth opportunities, new revenue streams, and maintain strong stakeholder relationships. The Creative Director will also work closely with the Games & Licensing team to ensure a joined up strategy and approach to gaming from a Zoo55 and ITV Studios lens. The role will also be paramount in shaping and formalising Zoo55 & ITV Studios' longer term gaming strategy across different platforms, from owned IP to looking at original IP and beyond.
Main responsibilities:
- Lead the creative vision and strategy for Metavision.
- Foster and maintain existing close working relationships with external stakeholders and third party vendors.
- Identify and evaluate third party vendors, and implement to grow Metavision's capability stack.
- Maintain Metavision presence in informal grassroots immersive media communities to identify new talent and potential innovations.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary internal and external teams to develop and implement innovative and immersive virtual worlds, experiences, and applications.
- Stay on the cutting edge of industry trends and advancements in immersive media technology.
- Innovate the Metavision business model, working alongside the Managing Director, Senior Account Director and Studio Director to identify growth opportunities and new revenue streams for Metavision.
- Create and present compelling visual presentations to stakeholders, including strategy, creative concepts and production process.
- Lead Metavision's visual identity and branding, adding content where needed to asset library.
- Lead creation of Metavision marketing material, including social presence, industry event collateral, and award videos / case studies.
- Collaborate directly with third parties and creatives to build final campaign assets.
- Responsible for managing creatives, producers and developers, helping to ensure that they have the resources and support they need to create high quality campaigns, following Metavision best practices.
- Build on Metavision's presence in the community, making Metavision's POV known and resonate to external stakeholders and industry.
- With the Managing Director lead out on ITV Studios long term Gaming & IP strategy in the immersive media and gaming space, alongside the Games & Licensing team.
Skills you'll need (minimum criteria):
- Proven experience in a senior creative leadership role (e.g. Creative Director or equivalent) within a digital, gaming, or immersive media studio/agency.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating conceptually driven work within platforms such as Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), Roblox/Roblox Studio, Minecraft or similar gaming environments.
- Deep understanding of creative possibilities and constraints within UEFN, Roblox and other immersive media ecosystems, including player engagement and platform-specific design principles.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver immersive experiences.
- Ability to translate client briefs into innovative, platform-native concepts that resonate with gaming and online communities.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience presenting and selling ideas to clients and partners.
- Working knowledge of real-time production pipelines and game/experience development workflows.
- Commercial awareness, with the ability to balance creative ambition with platform constraints, timelines, and budgets.
- Ability to help create and support with campaign ready assets.
- Strategizing and concepting around wider marketing materials such as influencer content.
- Production scoping and planning alongside wider team for creative concepts.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
