The media and post production landscape continues to evolve and ITV Studios are taking the opportunity to review how services in this space are delivered. Can we adopt innovative cloud-based workflows and AI tooling to streamline our processes, enhance our creativity and unlock the full potential in our intellectual property? To help shape this potential future direction, we are seeking a Business Analyst on a fixed term contract basis to join the programme, to deliver deep analytical thinking and help define proofs of concept, pilots, toolsets, and ongoing product evolutions.

As a Business Analyst within the Studios Technology team, you will lead user-focussed analysis and assessment of the current post production and media asset landscape, understanding the myriad of ways ITV Studios manages media and delivers post production activities. Armed with this understanding, you will support and collaborate with Product Managers, architects, analysts, engineers and colleagues from production, technology and operations to help define the future direction of travel for media asset management and post production, based on solid evidence and sound insight. True transformation will require a vision of the future which is supported by evidence of clear commercial advantage to ITV and you will deliver this through analysis of the existing software, hardware, business process and financial estate to help pull together a compelling and robust narrative for ongoing investment.

The team shapes and delivers the technology which powers our global content business, from the tools our production teams use to create brilliant programmes, to the systems that help us discover and sell that content around the world. The Future Post Production project is focussed on enabling transformation in the Post Production and Media Asset Management space, delivered by a cross-functional team of architects, analysts, engineers and experts from our in-house post production teams across the world. We promote a collaborative culture, open to new ideas and perspectives and with a focus on learning and innovation. You will work in collaboration with a cross-functional team of technologists across the Studios Technology team, reporting to the Programme Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand current business processes, structures and tooling, validating understanding and assumptions with users and identifying pain points and opportunities.
  • Document findings through standard analysis deliverables (business process modelling, stakeholder matrices, data flow models etc.).
  • Define and prioritise detailed functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Define detailed acceptance criteria and oversee test processes to ensure delivered functionality conforms to user requirements, standards and expectations.
  • Undertake gap analysis to identify training requirements and partner with business change to ensure user readiness.
  • Work with Product Manager and project teams to capture, detail and prioritise backlogs of ongoing change to align with strategic goals.
  • Cultivate strong trusted relationships with stakeholders across the company, including technology peers, business users and senior management.

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria):

  • At least 3 years experience in a Business Analysis or related field such as product or delivery.
  • Experience of working in a media production or post production environment.
  • Familiarity with media asset management, post production processes, video and audio transfer, transcode, delivery and archiving processes.
  • Strong analytical skills, including business process analysis, data and financial analysis.
  • Able to elicit business requirements using a range of techniques, including collaborative workshops and stakeholder interviews.
  • Willingness to dive deep into complex data, transforming ambiguity into absolute clarity.
  • Ability to distill complex narratives and high level business noise into clear actionable requirements.
  • Skilled in writing testable user stories using Gherkin syntax and utilising diverse prioritisation frameworks (e.g., MoSCoW, RICE, WSJF) effectively to gain consensus.
  • Understanding of agile methodologies.
  • Strong written and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to a variety of audiences.
  • Experience in financial analysis and modelling.

Other things we’re looking for (key criteria):

  • Experience working with cloud storage and media toolsets.
  • Experience working with AI solutions and their integration into an existing tech stack.
  • Experience working as a component of a cross-functional team, building effective relationships with peers and colleagues to ensure collaborative delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills, including presentations and reports tailored to diverse audiences up to executive level.
