Workplace: 1 New Oxford Street, London - expectation is 4-5 days in the office.

The Development Assistant will provide a mix of admin and running support to the development team, Executive Producer, Creative Director, and Chief Creative Officer. The role will support production and development processes along with editorial support, such as script analysis of submissions and IP, research, pitch design and proofreading.

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria):

  • Previous experience of working in the world of TV and/or film.
  • Office/Administrative experience.
  • Demonstrable awareness of the UK television landscape.
  • A passion for storytelling and drama with a hunger to learn more.
  • Familiarity with all software packages including Final Draft script programme (which can be taught).
  • Good administrative, time management and organisational skills with an ability to prioritise and juggle workload sensibly and take initiative.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • A flexible approach to working hours is essential.
  • Demonstrable ability to deal with a wide variety of people, including commissioners, cast, agents, writers, production teams etc.

Other things we’re looking for (key criteria):

  • We are looking for a development assistant to support senior leadership. This role isn’t entry level to television but can be an entry point to scripted development.
  • We are looking for someone who wants to step up from a PA, running or agency administrative role and therefore has existing knowledge of the industry and landscape.
  • We are looking for a passionate, ambitious, efficient, self-starter and team player, a voracious reader of books and watches lots of telly - across all genres.
  • Good interpersonal skills – the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, and to be formal or familiar, as the situation requires.
  • Ability to deal sensitively and confidently with internal staff and external guests with an understanding of the need to handle confidential information with tact and sensitivity.
